Rebecca Csomos

Rebecca Csomos, VMD, PhD, DACVS is a board certified veterinary surgeon, specializing in soft tissue surgery and surgical. She received her Veterinary Medical Degree (VMD) in 2012 from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to receiving her VMD,

Dr. Csomos earned her PhD in Molecular & Cellular Biology from the University of Michigan School of Medicine, as well as her BS in Biology from the University of Michigan. Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Csomos completed a rotating Small Animal Internal Medicine and Surgery internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York, NY, followed by a Small Animal Surgical residency at the University of Wisconsin.

Dr. Csomos was an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at Louisiana State University before transitioning to full time locum tenens. Since 2020, Dr. Csomos has performed teaching and locum tenens at various Universities and specialty veterinary hospitals

throughout the United States and Canada, including the University of California – Davis, University of Georgia, Oklahoma State University, the University of Pennsylvania, SAGE Veterinary Centers and several Ethos and BluePearl hospitals.

Dr. Csomos maintains an interest in all aspects of small animal surgery with expertise in soft tissue surgery – including  minimally invasive surgery, interventional radiology, and zoo medicine and surgery.

When not treating patients, Dr. Csomos spends her free time running, hiking with her dogs – Sazerac and Zulu, being on the water – fishing and sailing, and working out at Iron Tribe and Barry’s. She also enjoys watching and cheering on the Michigan Wolverines.

She takes every opportunity to travel and explore new cultures and cuisines (insert – big time foodie!), as well as return home to the parades and festivals of New Orleans.
