Emergency and Critical Care

If your pet is having an emergency, please call (631) 351-6116 immediately. Our 24 Hour Emergency and Critical Care services are treated at West Hills Animal Hospital and Emergency Center, located at:

800 W. Jericho Turnpike,
Huntington, NY 11743

Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care is affiliated with a 24/7 veterinary intensive care unit (ICU) and has a board-certified critical care veterinarian to care for your pet in life-threatening situations (emergencies such as a trauma or poisoning) or when your pet is experiencing a serious medical situation that can potentially be treated. Many pets will also stay in an ICU for postoperative recovery if the surgery was complex or when a pet is considered high risk for complications following a surgery (e.g., those with serious illnesses, senior pets, or very young pets). We provide overnight hospitalization for critical patients and access to veterinary emergency care when your regular veterinarian is closed.

The goal of our critical care department is to use all possible treatments to give your pet the best chance of survival. Our critical care team is highly trained to provide stabilization, examination, diagnostic testing, supportive treatment, and around-the-clock care. Our ICU is equipped with the latest life-supporting technology and equipment, a board-certified veterinary critical care specialist and highly skilled technicians trained in the care and treatment of pets with critical conditions.
