Dr. Ariel Kravitz is a native Long Islander and is thrilled to be a part of the Gold Coast team. Her love and respect for animals blossomed from an early age with her long-term commitment to volunteering at, among others, NSALA (North Shore Animal League America) and LIRHA (Long Island Riding for the Handicapped Association). The honor of being selected as Humane Teen of the Year by the Humane Society of the United States permitted her to assist veterinarians and veterinary students on several summer trips to various Native American Reservations. It was these surgical MASH adventures that cemented Dr. Kravitz’s passion for small animal surgery.

After graduating from Great Neck South High School, she attended Vanderbilt University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. She then went on to pursue a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, where she graduated Phi Zeta from the College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kravitz continued her medical training with an internship in Medicine and Surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York. She completed a 3-year residency in small animal surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Kravitz has presented on various aspects of surgery at professional conferences and symposiums, and has authored several research articles.

Dr. Kravitz enjoys all aspects of surgery with a special interest in soft tissue and oncologic surgery. Dr. Kravitz is certified in both PennHIP, an imaging test that helps identify canines that are at risk for developing canine hip dysplasia later in life, and VetStem stem cell therapy treatment. She is most recently certified in veterinary acupuncture, and incorporates her training in treating her patients to help reduce pain and inflammation and promote local healing.

In her free time, Dr. Kravitz enjoys traveling, exploring the city and relaxing with her family, cat, Millie, Sheltie, Emmy and dog-nephew, Cooper.
